I was born in Federal Way, Washington, where my strong passion for sports eventually led me to achieve the remarkable feat of becoming a two-time Olympian in the 400-meter hurdles, competing in the 2016 and 2021 Olympic Games. My career as a professional athlete was marked by intense training sessions, competitions, and an unwavering drive for excellence. Throughout this journey, I incorporated various strategies to optimize my performance, with chiropractic care standing out as a vital component that allowed me to reach my highest potential.
One particularly difficult season, I encountered a debilitating issue with my temporomandibular joint (TMJ) that greatly impacted my ability to eat. This condition made it challenging to consume the necessary calories to fuel my demanding training regimen. I explored numerous painful treatments and spent a considerable amount of money in my search for relief, yet I found little success. It was only after deciding to consult my chiropractor that I experienced the transformative relief I had been longing for. With a few gentle adjustments, my TMJ dysfunction was resolved without pain, and this positive experience sparked a desire within me to delve into the chiropractic profession.
This defining moment fueled my enthusiasm to pursue a career in chiropractic care. I realized I wanted to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others, just as my chiropractor had done for me. I embarked on my educational journey in chiropractic studies, deeply engaging with the intricacies of the human body and the healing powers of chiropractic techniques. This path was both demanding and fulfilling, solidifying my dedication to helping individuals achieve their health and wellness aspirations.
After completing my studies, I chose to relocate back to Washington to be nearer to my family. It was during this time that I discovered Burien Wellness, where I was immediately captivated by the vibrant energy and collaborative spirit of the team. Their dedication to holistic health and community involvement aligned perfectly with my own values, making it a natural choice for me to become part of their practice.
