Preventive Care vs. Crisis Care — What You Don’t DO Could Hurt You!

Chiropractic, Healthy Lifestyle

(Plus, a special invitation for you!)

Many people seek chiropractic care when they are experiencing back and neck pain and are needing immediate relief. The same is true for other natural treatments such as massage and acupuncture. This is even true for exercise — we tend not to do it until we have some type of body or health crisis we’re addressing.

But natural health care is designed for prevention and to foster wellness in the human body, allowing the body to ‘self-handle’ a crisis or even prevent a crisis from occurring. With a natural approach, the body is able to stay closer to where it should be — carefully balanced with the many different systems and functions working together.

Much of traditional Western medicine, including over-the-counter and prescription medications are designed to react to illness or injury but do little or nothing to help prevent it.

Without preventive care, when our bodies are faced with a challenge, we frequently move to a health care provider that does crisis care. When we take a closer look, the crisis may have been lessened or avoided if our bodies were better conditioned to begin with.

Here’s how you can better equip your body by utilizing natural, non-invasive health care so that you stay “tuned-up” to avoid or decrease the effects of health challenges:

  • Eat real food, that which grows in the ground or grazes (and is responsibly raised) on land.  Lab-made, processed foods aren’t as nutritionally valuable.. Use high quality vitamins and supplements as needed to augment your diet.
  • Don’t just treat yourself to an occasional massage, consider it a regular part of your preventive care and enjoy it more often!
  • Get checked out by your chiropractor regularly! Find and resolve issues while they’re manageable and before a crisis occurs. It’s for the health of your brain and nervous system, not your pain!
  • Maintain a consistent exercise program. We all know that regular exercise is much more effective than short spurts of intense work-outs, which often leads to intense periods of burn-outs! Find something you love to do and do it regularly.

Establishing and staying current with your wellness and maintenance programs is one of the best ways to avoid injury, illness, and disease. You will never regret taking good care of your  health!
